man has been convicted for taking part in a series of gang killings that randomly targeted people in San Pablo who wore red.

The Contra Costa Times reports that a jury found 22-year-old Jorge Camacho guilty of three counts of murder and conspiracy Thursday.

Authorities say the gang decided to randomly shoot people wearing red to reclaim their territory after a loss of gang leadership. Four people died in the 2007 and 2008 shootings.

Jurors found Camacho guilty of killing two people himself and conspiring in a third, but acquitted him in the murder of a 15-year-old boy.

Camacho faces life in prison without parole at his June 17 sentencing.

He's the fourth gang member convicted at trial. Six others reached plea deals, and one trial remains for Hector Molina, who's charged with killing the 15-year-old.

Anthony Garcia was convicted of first degree murder in April in connection with the Jan. 2004 killing of John Juarez in front of Ed's Liquor in Pico Rivera, Calif.  According to the Whittier Daily News, Garcia was sentenced on Thursday.

The case went cold until Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide detective Sgt. Kevin Lloyd came across a photo of Garcia's tattoo, and recognized the crime scene images and details of the killing.

"I remembered in 2004, I'd been at the scene when the murder occurred in the city of Pico Rivera and so right away, it caught my attention," Lloyd told CBS affiliate KCBS Friday of the tattoo. "The victim was standing at the corner, gets shot in the head and then falls down in the... driveway of the liquor store."

Lloyd said the murder was a shooting against Garcia's rival gang.

Garcia was arrested at a La Habra home in October 2008. Parker said he confessed while in the Norwalk sheriff's station jail and was booked for murder the same day.

"All I can say is he's very boastful and arrogant and so he was very proud of his tattoo and when he was in a position, he would talk to other people about it," Lloyd added.

The man who drove the getaway car also confessed and faces 20 years in prison.

Detective Lloyd said in his 30 years in law enforcement, he had never seen a tattoo that depicted an entire crime scene, until this unusual case.

A Brooklyn jury reached the verdict against former acting boss Vincent "Vinny Gorgeous" Basciano on Monday, its fourth day of deliberations.

Basciano already was serving a life sentence for an attempted murder conviction in 2007. This time, prosecutors were seeking the death penalty for the killing of a mob associate who ran afoul of the Bonanno organized crime family.

The trial featured testimony by former Bonanno boss Joseph Massino, the highest-ranking member of a New York City Mafia family ever to testify against his own.

Jurors heard secret recordings by Massino that prosecutors said captured the 51-year-old Basciano admitting to the killing.
